Intermediate Algebra & English Cross Enrollment

Cross enrollment allows UL Lafayette students to take courses with South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) in the same semester. Intermediate Algebra, (or Math 92) is taught by SLCC and hosted on UL Lafayette’s campus during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.

Intermediate English, (or English 83) is taught by SLCC on their campus during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.

Please note: Students should not have an active application with SLCC. Seats are often limited and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Intermediate Algebra & English Cross-Enrollment Steps:

Step 1:

Students have the option to enroll in Intermediate Algebra OR score at least a 250 on the ACCUPLACER QAS. To learn more about registering for this exam, please email

Students who elect to take Intermediate Algebra -or- students who do not test a 250 or higher on the ACCUPLACER exam, see Step 2.

 If a student needs Intermediate English, see Step 2.

Step 2:

Complete a Cross-Enrollment application packet with the Registrar's Office, by emailing your request to:

Await e-mail notification from Registrar's Office regarding enrollment in SLCC course.

Any change to your schedule, including adding or dropping a cross-enrolled course, must be completed in the UL Lafayette Registrar’s Office or by emailing

When taking remedial courses, the student should not schedule more than 12 total credit hours including the Cross-Enrolled course. For example, 9hrs of UL Lafayette coursework plus 3hrs of Intermediate Algebra equal 12 total hours.

Standard UL Lafayette tuition and fees are assessed for Cross-Enrolled courses. Any student registered more than 12 hours will be assessed an additional Cross-Enrollment fee. Students will pay all fees at UL Lafayette.
